How to advertise supplements safely
Advertise the product and the routine, never the outcome, so no cure, no weight figure and no before and after image. Build the landing page to say the same thing as the ad, keep the account clean, and the ad is approved on the first submission.
On this page
Supplement brands assume the product is the problem. It almost never is. The reviewer is reading one headline, one image and one landing page against a health policy written for consumer protection, and the thing that trips it is a sentence the founder wrote in ten seconds because it sounded like every other advertisement in the category.
Which supplement claims get rejected?
Anything that promises a health outcome, names a condition, puts a number on a result, or implies the reader is inadequate as they are. Anything that describes the product, the ingredients and the routine is ordinarily fine.
| Claim type | Allowed | Refused |
|---|---|---|
| Outcome | supports your daily routine, formulated for active days | burns fat, cures anxiety, reverses hair loss |
| Numbers | serving size, ingredient quantity, delivery time | lose ten kilograms, results in seven days |
| Imagery | the product, the ingredients, a person using it normally | before and after pairs, isolated body parts, scales |
| Audience | people who train, people who travel, people over fifty | people who are overweight, people who are depressed |
| Proof | a study named and linked on the page | implied medical endorsement, invented certification |
The pattern behind every row is the same. A platform will let you describe what a thing is and refuse to let you promise what a thing does to a body. Write the ad on the left of that line and the review stops being a lottery.
What may the landing page say?
The page is reviewed with the ad, so it may not carry a claim the ad is not allowed to make. A compliant ad pointing at a page full of transformation photographs is refused on the page, not on the ad.
That catches most brands, because the page was written for conversion long before anyone read a policy. Align the two: the same promise, the same tone, the same evidence. Where you want to say more, say it on a page that no ad points at, and let search carry the reader there instead. That is what SEO and GEO automation is for, and for a restricted category it is often the cheapest reach available, because an answer engine does not refuse a page the way a reviewer refuses an ad.
Keep the checkout, the refund terms and the contact details on the page as well. A page that takes money with no visible terms reads as risk to a reviewer even when every word of the copy is clean.
Which platform is easiest for a new supplement brand?
Meta, because the audience and the creative format suit consumer goods and the policy is published in detail. Google suits the searches for the specific ingredient, and TikTok suits a young audience if the creative is genuinely native.
Run the plan before the spend. Which platforms carry your product depends on the ingredient and the country, and a formulation that is ordinary in one market is a restricted substance in another. The plan you get before signing names the platforms and the countries where approval is realistic, and ads automation then builds each ad from that platform’s own policy before submission.
Two neighbouring categories behave the same way and are worth reading if your formulation sits near them: CBD and hemp and, for anything sold as a financial product rather than a physical one, crypto.
If the ads are already being refused, book a call and you will get a written plan first. Retainers are on pricing, and the rest of these questions sit on the answers hub.

- We do not promise a supplement account will never be restricted. We build each ad from the platform's policy and run multiple ad accounts on one campaign so a single restriction cannot stop it.
